Coronavirus threat in IPL 2020: Sourav Ganguly says IPL is on

Posted by [email protected] on March 11, 2020 at 5:55 AM Comments comments (0)

The 13th edition of Indian Premier League is under coronavirus threat. There is a lot of discussion around the status of the league because of the growing number of coronavirus cases in India. But the BCCI president confirmed that the league is still on.

IPL 2020 to be postponed?

Total number of coronavirus cases in India has now rises to 42 as on Monday. On the other hand, the IPL will begin on March 29 with seven matches to be played in Mumbai including the opening fixture between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The Maharashtra Health Ministry released a statement mentioning, "15 people are under observation while 258 have been discharged. Not a single person has been found positive for coronavirus infection in the state, as of now."

So the Health Minster believes that IPL could be organized later and the situation must be discussed accordingly. He thinks that gathering in such huge number like IPL matches should be avoided in such situation. "There is always a danger of spread (of contagious diseases) when people gather in large numbers. Such events can always be organised later. So discussion is on whether to postpone the IPL."

BCCI on IPL under corona threat

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India does not keen on changing the schedule or taking any call on the league. Moreover, the president Sourav Ganguly confirmed to India Today that the IPL would be organized as per schedule. He further assured that board would take necessary precautions to deal with the alarming situation during the league. "It's on...and BCCI will take all protection (against coronavirus)," Ganguly confirmed while asked about the BCCI’s idea of dealing the league under the threat.

According to a senior BCCI official the board would replicate the precautionary guidelines recommended by the government. They would also end the same to all the stakeholders. The reports suggest that the BCCI would advise the players avoid shaking hands with fans or touching devises that do not belong to them.

Harman 'stil' has faith in her team

Posted by [email protected] on March 11, 2020 at 4:30 AM Comments comments (0)

After the loss in the T20 World Cup final, Indian women team captain Harmanpreet Kaur said that she still has faith in the team. She also addressed the areas Indian team needs to focus on in future.

India lost to Australia in final

In the 85-run defeat to Australia in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, Indian team looked devastated and out of track throughout. Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney were destructive as even in their 115-run partnership which pushed India behind from the very beginning of the finale. But India topped the group staged and reached the knockouts in style. They went on to beat Australia in the group as well which definitely made the fans hopeful in the final.

After the debacle Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain attracted a huge criticism for her captaincy and batting as well. Harman gather mere 30 runs in the whole tournament. On the other hand, the others were also not so impressive too. Shafali Verma, the 16-year-old batter contributed in every match for India and so her failure in the final shook one and all in the yesterday’s match.

Speaking about the performance, Kaur said, “The way we played in the league stages, it was outstanding. It was unfortunate to drop those catches today.”

Harman on team and future

In her post-match conference the skipper also said that she has faith in her team and the future would be important. "I still have a lot of faith in my team. The upcoming one and half years is important. The future is important for us. We need to stay calm and focus on the areas we need to improve, especially the fielding. We know we weren't able to win the game because of our fielding. We need to keep these things in mind."

The 31-year-old further added that the team would play with more focus in upcoming games and hoped for more challenges in future. “This year we are hoping for some more games in the Women's T20 Challenge. That tournament is very important for our domestic cricket and we got two players from there. Hopefully, we do get more players so that they can contribute to the team.”

Brad Pitt Urged Jennifer Aniston in Signing 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' Reunion Deal

Posted by [email protected] on March 9, 2020 at 6:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Jennifer Aniston and Co. overwhelmed Friends fanatics all over the world since they announced gearing up for a reunion for the show’s 25th anniversary in February.

Jennifer Aniston’s idyllic: Brad Pitt

And now, reports have come up that Jennifer Aniston has said yes to the reunion special because her former husband Brad Pitt encouraged her to do so!

According to mirror.co.uk, Jen took advice from Pitt after being reluctant to return alongside her Friends co-stars.

In quest of appreciation, Aniston rediscovers old attachments

Closer Magazine quoted a source as saying, "After reuniting with Brad at her birthday last year, she asked him for advice. He said he thought it would be a great idea to honour their success and that fans still hold the show in such high regard".

The insider further revealed that Brad also urged Jen that this was the right time for her to agree to the show. "He told her it feels like the right time to get back together and encouraged her change of heart. He advised her to say yes' when everyone got together in October to celebrate the show's 25th anniversary".

And so, motivation didn’t find a reason big enough when Aniston’s confusion was rewarded with Brad’s bold and definite vision.

Gearing up for the on-air momentum: 'Friends' reunion

Earlier, it was announced that Friends alum, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lis Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry, will earn close to 2 million pounds each for the untitled, unscripted reunion special.

These days it's all about keeping an eye on the actor’s final take in the nostalgic hour, rather than wondering about what can be possible or not during the countdown. Remember, keeping high on expectations hasn’t been that disappointing since Friends inception.

Perfect Menu for the Three Day Military Diet

Posted by [email protected] on March 9, 2020 at 4:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Before we continue, it’s only fair we shed a little light on what you can expect to eat whilst adhering to the 3DMD. Be prepared, the rations are scarce, as is the daily calorific intake which sits at under the 1400 mark every day, when the typical daily serving is closer to 2500 calories.

So what's on the menu?

Acceptable foods are pretty thin on the ground, though in their defence posses a high nutritional value. Admittedly, so of the inclusions may raise an eyebrow or two. Here are the foods that make the grade:

  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Carrots
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Coffee
  • Crackers
  • Eggs
  • Grapefruit
  • Green Beans
  • Hotdogs
  • Meat
  • Peanut Butter
  • Tea
  • Tuna
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Wholegrain Bread

As you'll see, there is not a lot of variety on paper, and when we set out the meal plans, later on, it'll be a real eye-opener how little you'll consume.

Thankfully, the Three Day Military Diet does have some room for manoeuvrability; you'll notice the allocated foods are for a carnivorous audience, and with some items such as tuna that may not sit well with certain individuals.

Substitutions are essential for vegetarians, vegans, and those with choice tastes, for them to be able to participate on 3DMD. To make it more inclusive, we have a list of foods you can replace the meat and animal products for preferable, healthy alternatives, whilst still taking on sufficient levels of protein:

For those who would rather dodge the pungent flavours on the list you can do the following:

  • Swap grapefruit for a glass of water with half a teaspoon of baking soda
  • Remove tuna in favour of another fish, or an alternate lean protein source

Underpinning all substitutions is a hard and fast rule that must be obeyed for successful completion of the diet. Each item of food swapped out must be replaced with another item containing the same number of calories, similar levels of protein, and must be from the same food groups.

You're permitted to swap any item on the lists, as long as they meet the same nutritional standards and rules as noted above, you'll maintain the nourishing balance required by 3DMD, and you'll be well within the parameters of the rules.

Oh, and before we roll on to the next section, it's important you're aware of foods that absolutely are not permitted on 3DMD. The reasoning behind the exclusion of all these items is down to one common ingredient - sugar. Now, we don't need to lament or lecture on the problems with sugar, we all know it's bad and should minimise its influence in our diets, full stop.

The brains behind Three Day Military Diet state that if you really need a sweetener at any point during the dieting process, refer to stevia, the popular sugar alternative that adds sweetness without the badness.

Keep a note of these no no's, you'll fall short of the mark if you consume there during your diet, and even arguably during your days off to, and nobody wants that:

  • Artificial Sweeteners
  • Creams and Creamers
  • Fruit Juices
  • Milk
  • Oranges
  • Sodas
  • Sugar

Paleo-Diet-Vs-Keto-Diet

Posted by [email protected] on March 6, 2020 at 7:30 AM Comments comments (0)

In the tight scheduled life of 21st century it is really hard to main a balance between a healthy lifestyle and work schedule so many of us try to compensate the deficiency by getting admitted to a gym . But just joining the gym is not enough we also need to follow a healthy diet plan to maintain a healthy body and to tackle the overpowering issues like obesity, gastrointestinal disorders etc. Two of such diet plans which are trending are: Paleo Diet and Keto Diet

Paleo Diet

It sounds interesting by its name, and the secret also lies in that. The main concept of paleo diet is to follow or replicate the diet of the Palaeolithic men when humans were nothing but caveman, unaware of farming and lived lives as hunters and gathers. For this fact it is also known as caveman diet, but it does not tell people to eat raw flesh but instead tries to tell that we should avoid artificially cultivated food and dairy products and focus more on whole foods, fruits and vegetables which are available. The main hypothesis behind this diet is that the human diet style has evolved with a very fast pace but the human physiology which was more accustomed to the Palaeolithic life style could not evolve at the same pace, thus this lack of the human physiology to adapt with the rapidly evolving diet style is the probable cause of issues like diabetes, obesity etc. Paleo diet thus suggests to avoid grains, legumes, dairy products, processed foods and encourages lean meat fish whole food, fruits, seeds and vegetables.

Keto Diet

Keto Diet or Ketogenic diet is a diet means a drastically reduction of the carbs or carbohydrate rich foods in our diet and replace those with high amounts of healthy fat and optimum protein. Due to the deficiency of carbohydrates the body starts the process of ketosis by turning fat into fatty acids and ketones, the ketones now serve as alternative fuel for the body in place of glucose. Due to this ketosis there is rapid fat burning in the body and also a reduction of blood sugar level and many other healthy outcomes. Thus it can be said keto diet is more focused to lose weight rapidly.

Know everything about Vegan Diet

Posted by [email protected] on March 4, 2020 at 6:35 AM Comments comments (0)

The concept of following a vegan diet came from the Vegan movement which started in 1960s to refine our relationship with nature and animals. Vegan diet means to consume only plants and plant products and strictly avoid animal products like meat, eggs and even dairy.

The people who follow this kind of diet call themselves vegans. The vegans believe that the vegan diet will not only improve our health but will help save our environment by creating a better relationship with other animals and plants.

One of the main differences between vegetarians and vegans is the use of dairy products in their diet. The vegans don't consume dairy milk or dairy cheese instead uses vegan milk and cheese.

Vegan cheese is not made from animal protein and is completely made from plant products. Vegan cheese can be made from coconut milk, almond milk, cashew milk, soya milk or from seeds like sesame, sunflower, pine nuts, tapioca, and nutritional yeast.

Vegan cheese is completely cholesterol free and is high in protein making it a perfect food for heart patients. But the drawback of vegan cheese is, it is costlier when compared to conventional cheese. Vegan cheese becomes more costly due to its low demand, less availability, and high cost of primary ingredients and difficult manufacturing techniques. Vegan diet is also beneficial for people suffering from lactose intolerance. Vegans often face food choice dilemma, as it is confusing to find out if their favourite snacks are vegan friendly or not and also face problems like Is Beer Vegan? You will not face any problem for vegan free beer because mostly beers are vegan free.

Oreo is one of most popular cookies worldwide. Thus, it became a matter of concern for strict Vegans to find out if ores are vegan friendly or not. To address the confusion the manufacturers made it clear that the classic Oreo cookie and its other entire flavour variant are completely vegan friendly.

The manufacturers also admitted that since Oreos are made in the same factory where other milk containing products are also made, there is a risk of cross contact. Now it depends on the vegan’s ethics and the tolerance of the lactose sensitive people, if they can tolerate this risk of cross contact or not.

Being caution will not help, says Kohli

Posted by [email protected] on February 27, 2020 at 7:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Indians had a terrible first Test against New Zealand which they would like to forget soon. The batsmen especially had a massive fail and then the bowlers followed. Speaking of the performances, Virat Kohli clearly said that the approach needs to be changed to win the away matches.

  • Kohli on Indian batting

The Indian batsmen failed to cross 200 in both the innings in seam-friendly conditions and then the bowling unit could not restrict the hosts to a decent lead. India’s performance was nowhere close to the number one Test team. He pointed out the approach of the batting unit and explained, “I think the language we use as a batting unit, that has to be correct. I don’t think being cautious or wary will help because you might stop playing your shots.”

After a disaster in Wellington, the Men in Blue is set to take on the Kiwis once again in the second Test match. The next match is scheduled to begin from February 29 in Christchurch.

  • Kohli on playing attacking cricket

The skipper further explained that the defensive mind-set of the team does not help them win matches abroad. He clarified that during the away matches there is not point of being defensive because it never pays off. He also mentioned about his own approach that is generally attacking. The captain said that he focuses on playing counter-attacking game which can help him to take the team forward. Moreover, Kohli commented that it is important to admit if an approach goes wrong.

“If I see a situation, if it is a green wicket, then I try to play counter-attacking cricket so that I can take the team forward. If you don’t succeed, then you have to accept that your thinking was correct, you tried but it didn’t come off, fair enough. There is no harm in accepting that. But I don’t think a cautious approach ever pays off, especially away from home.”
